1945
Korean Electronic & Communication Society (KECS) was founded.
1963
KECS changed its name to ‘Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea (IEEK).’
1965
Changed its English name to ‘Korea Institute of Electronics Engineers (KIEE)’ with Korean name unchanged.
1969
Granted the first IEEK Awards.
1983
Signed a MOU of cooperation with the IEICE of Japan.
1987
Changed its English name to ‘Korea Institute of Telematics and Electronics (KITE)’ with Korean name unchanged.
1990
Granted the first Haedong Awards.
1996
Celebrated its fiftieth anniversary.
1999
Signed a MOU of cooperation with the IEEE of U.S.A.
1999
Changed its English name back to ‘IEEK’ with Korean name unchanged. Launched internet service with www.ieek.or.kr.
2006
Granted the first IT Young Engineer Award jointly with IEEE.
2009
Signed a MOU of cooperation with the CIE of China.
