- 1945
- Korean Electronic & Communication Society (KECS) was founded.
- 1963
- KECS changed its name to ‘Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea (IEEK).’
- 1965
- Changed its English name to ‘Korea Institute of Electronics Engineers (KIEE)’ with Korean name unchanged.
- 1969
- Granted the first IEEK Awards.
- 1983
- Signed a MOU of cooperation with the IEICE of Japan.
- 1987
- Changed its English name to ‘Korea Institute of Telematics and Electronics (KITE)’ with Korean name unchanged.
- 1990
- Granted the first Haedong Awards.
- 1996
- Celebrated its fiftieth anniversary.
- 1999
- Signed a MOU of cooperation with the IEEE of U.S.A.
- 1999
- Changed its English name back to ‘IEEK’ with Korean name unchanged. Launched internet service with www.ieek.or.kr.
- 2006
- Granted the first IT Young Engineer Award jointly with IEEE.
- 2009
- Signed a MOU of cooperation with the CIE of China.
